Rank is players over the last seven days. A big server showing offline while the rest are up is that server restarting or wiping, not Rust being down.
The reading
check: server list. 11,826 servers responding, 91,935 players connected. Rust servers are up.
This verdict compares the current count against what this hour usually looks like on our own readings. The list is read every five minutes. If the numbers sit well below normal, that is a network-wide signal; if they sit within range, the problem is likely local to you or to one server.
If the verdict says up but your browser is empty
- Restart Rust first, then Steam. The browser list comes from Steam, and a stale session returns nothing.
- Clear the filters in the server browser. An old region or tag setting can hide everything.
- Update the game on update day. Servers move to the new build one by one, and a client on the old build sees fewer servers.
- Turn off your VPN and retry. Some networks block the traffic the browser uses.
If one server is missing
A single absent server is that server restarting, wiping or offline. Its status is on its own page; the full live list is on Rust servers live status. For scheduled wipes, check the wipe schedule and the force wipe countdown.
The biggest servers
We rank by slots and by current population and check whether each one answers our query. A server that fails to answer for several cycles is marked offline on its page. Browse the largest by population, or see the live player count for the total across the list.
Charts
The 48-hour graphs plot the count against the normal band for each hour. A line that dips below the band and stays there is an outage. A line that returns inside the band within one cycle is a blip, usually a restart window. You can read the same band on the live player count page.
Questions
3 items · open each to read1.How do you decide whether Rust servers are down?
We compare the number of servers answering our query with the number this hour normally has. If the count is at or above 85 per cent of the usual figure, we call it up; below half, we call it an outage; between the two, degraded. The figure stays on the page beside the verdict so you can check the basis.
2.Rust works but one server does not appear in my list. Is it down?
Not necessarily. A server can be restarting, mid-wipe or refusing queries for a cycle or two. It has its own page with the last time we saw it, and the Rust servers live status list shows every server we can reach right now.
3.How often does the reading on this page update?
The server list is read every five minutes, so a fresh verdict arrives about that often. We show the time of the last read under the verdict. If more than twenty-five minutes have passed, the page marks the reading as behind instead of presenting it as current.
